Spacemouse Wireless in SketchUp Pro 2019 Erratic

Post by smwsk »

I recently purchased a Spacemouse Wireless, and I use it on a Windows 10 64 bit machine. It works just fine in the 3Dxware trainer, but when I try to use it in SketchUp Pro 2019, it's completely erratic. It either doesn't zoom at all, or it zooms so fast and erratically that it's unusable. I've tried every imaginable combination of settings in SketchUp, but nothing helps - it just flat out won't work properly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the 3dxware several times (currently running 10.6.5). I'm ready to chuck this useless paperweight! :x

Hi smwsk,

it might be that your user-specific settings for SketchUp got messed up. Please try if removing the user-specific settings solves the problem. See here how to do that.

Let us know what you find out.

Here's what 3DX support told me to do, and it fixed it:

1. Close SketchUp.
2. Go to Start and do a search for “Stop 3DxWare” and stop the driver.
3. Open File Explorer
4. Navigate to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg
5. Delete XML sheet that says SketchUp
6. Close File Explorer
7. Go to Start and do a search for “Start 3DxWare” and start the driver.
8. Start SketchUp.
9. Test
