Radial menus broken?

Post by astern »

Hello,

Trying out a SpaceMouse Wireless on Mac osx 10.9. The radial menus seem broken - when I activate either of them, they don't seem mapped properly to the screen. Mousing over them, the incorrect quadrants activate, or don't activate at all.

I tried searching for this but couldn't find the same issue yet. Is anyone aware of this and/or aware of a fix? Latest drivers, fresh install.

Thanks.

Hello astern -

Instead of the current Release 10.1.0, try the Release 1.0.14 driver. We have had some reports of mapped commands not generating with Release 10.1.0.

Download Release 1.0.14 by choosing 'Also show archived software' on our downloads page.
Uninstall Release 10.1.0 by right-clicking on the 3Dconnexion icon in System Properties - Other.

The application software you are using will determine whther this would be a useful workaround for you. It cannot be used for SketchUp 2014 - that requires Release 10.1.0. A workaround using Release 10.1.0 is discussed here.

Replaced drivers - same issue. Radial menu selection doesn't line up with on-screen mouse pointer, and doesn't allow me to select the right and bottom quadrants at all.

Hello astern,

do you have a machine with retina display?

Do you see a chance to send us a screen recording of the issue?

Hello UtaSH,

Yes I do. A Macbook Pro w Retina, hooked up to an apple thunderbolt display.

I don't have screen recording software installed at the moment but if I have some time I will endeavour to do this.

Thanks,
Adam

Any update on this, Barbara?

I recently purchased an Wireless version and it has the same problem. It works fine on my iMac, but the radial menu is still 'broken' on my Retina MBP.

Hello Bresson -

Our developers post new releases on the driver download page the day they become available. Release dates are not pre-announced. In general we have new drivers every few months - the last two Mac releases were 10/1 and 11/25 2013. The .PDF on the download page lists the issues that have been addressed and plugins that have been updated. An issue like the Retina display is usually fixed in next release - but we won't know in advance.

Hi all,

we have released a new version of 3DxWare for Mac OS X yesterday. The issue with the Retina Display is fixed with this release. Please give it a try and let us know your feedback. Thanks!

Still not working properly at all.

Radial menus seem to work correctly on the retina screen itself, but when using a standard apple external thunderbolt display the same offset issue exists. The calibrate button in system prefs doesn't seem to do anything. Turning it back off again...
