Anyone running Rhinoceros ?

Post by Maxwell's silver hammer »

While still in its early stages of development, it works great so far. So great, that I barely have to boot camp (take it like a verb) anymore.

I intend to get a SpaceNavigator, but it has to work with no shades of gray with the software listed below:

- Rhinoceros under Mac
- Autodesk Showcase 2011 under Windows

I guess Showcase support might be a plausible scenario. As for Rhino, while kind of a poor's man 3D software, enjoys a notable presence within the student community, hence it would make sense for 3Dconnexion to support it, you have got a Student Store after all…

So, anyone with a SpaceNavigator mouse willing to give those apps a try.?

Rhinoceros is a free download available here:

Autodesk Showcase is free as long as you have a student e-mail address.

I´m using Rhino for mac and space navigator for a while.

I´ve being using it more intensively on maya 2011 for mac, where it works absolutely perfect.

For Rhino it works good, although I can not set it up so i will work on the smae directions as in maya, so I don't have to change my brain every time i switch up... not quite happy yet...

"Rhino 4.0 runs only on:
Windows 2000
Windows XP Pro
Windows XP Home
Windows Vista*
Windows 7*
including an Intel Mac with BootCamp...

"Rhino 4.0 does not run natively on Mac OS X, but it is under development...

"Virtualization systems such as VMWare and Parallels are not recommended."
