SpaceMouse Sketchup continues to move

Post by mrmdsims »

I have an issue with my SpaceMouse and Sketchup. After I do a tilt-up or down the model rotates clockwise for 10 secs or so on its own. Other directions are better but the model still rotates clockwise a bit after I let go. I really only use Sketchup and Fusion and this only happens in Sketchup.

Mac OS Catalina (did the same in Mojave)
3DCore Version 1.1.3
3dxWare Version 10.6.4

I have unloaded and reloaded the 3Dconnexion software and plug-ins. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mrmdsims,

please contact our Technical Support Team. Let them know which version of SketchUp you are using so that they can try to reproduce the issue.

Plus one. After installing 3Dxware 10.6.4, have had a lot of trouble with both Cadmouse and the Space Mouse wireless. In both Sketchup 2019 and 2020, orbiting a model with the Space Mouse will sometimes result in the orbit action taking off with no stopping it in sight, followed shortly by a Sketchup crash. At first I thought it was just SKP 2020, but it just happened in SKP 2019. Never happened with 3Dxware 10.6.1

Also having a lot of trouble with the Cad mouse triggering a double click with a single click - or conversely, clicking with no action whatsoever. (used in Bluetooth mode since it lagged too much with the wireless receiver).

Am going back to 10.6.1. First time I installed 10.6.4 resulted in a completely broken machine requiring restore from the backup to get a functioning machine.

I also have this problem with driver versions 10.6.4 and 10.6.5. 10.6.3 is the last one that is stable for me.

Same issue in both SketchUp 2019 and 2020: after navigating a model for a short while, the rotate and zoom take off on their own with no way to stop them, as if SketchUp is being flooded with bogus SpaceNavigator events. Closing the model will crash SketchUp.

We fixed a couple of issues affecting navigation in SketchUp in the latest release, version 10.6.5. If you can, please go to the Extension Manager panel in SketchUp and check if the 3Dconnexion extension is version 5.1.0.

Yes, this happens with 10.6.5 and also on a completely new MacBookPro 16".

I confirmed that the iostalled SketchUp extension version is 5.1.0. It also says 3Dx MacCore version 1.1.4. I continue to have this problem, which makes the SN unusable!

This was happening on my mid-2012 MacBookPro 15". I just got a 2019 MacBookPro 16" and the problem is the same there. My device P/N is 3DX-600028 and PID B4315143409. I tried filling out a support request but the web page won't let me select any driver version beyond 10.5, which isn't even available any more!

I am becoming convinced that my SN is defective. What next?
