Linux and ANSYS CFX

Post by Satellite890 »

I am using 3DxWare 1.4.3 for 64-bit opensuse 11.2. My spacepilot works well in ANSYS ICEMCFD, but I have absolutely no response in ANSYS CFX. The ANSYS manual says that the spacepilot does work in CFX for Microsoft Windows. Am I missing something to have the spacepilot active in linux CFX?

ANSYS CFX 3DxWare 1.4.3 for 64-bit opensuse 11.2

Dear Satellite890,

I have no listing of certification for ANSYS. It may have been a program that at one time made use of our devices. You would want to contact your ANSYS support to determine what versions of ANSYS they have developed for use with our devices and their specifications of operating systems and 3DxWare.
It does look like you are making use of our latest Linux driver. The drivers for Windows are different that those for Linux, so if ANSYS does not make specific reference to a Linux version of theirs making use of our devices, there would be no expectation that it would. It could simply be a matter of decisions made by their developers of which versions that they included input from our device in.

Sincerely,
Bryan
