Events after releasing SpaceNavigator

Post by waan »

Hi,

i am using the COM Interface in VS 2005 for programming the SpaceNavigator. After pressing and releasing the SpaceNavigator i get some extra events.

How can i suspend these extra events?

Thanks for your help

Hi waan,

This events last a fraction of a second. Why is that a problem? After releasing the cap, there is always a small oscillation that may cause -- due to the sensitivity of the optical sensor -- a few extra packets of data to be sent.

Hi ngomes,

the problem is that we use the SpacePilot to move an axis with a microscope on it. If the axis don't stop after releasing ths SpacePilot there is a chance to run into the probe and crashing it. Focusing with an axis that wouldn't stop when releasing the SpacePilot would be difficult also.

But isn't human error a more likely cause of a crash? Surely you need to have some sort of safety mechanism to prevent damage.

For how long are you seeing these extra packets of data being sent? 300 ms? 500ms?
