Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

I completely understand how you guys cannot make any kind of legally binding decision about what can/cannot be distributed. I thought maybe it might poke someone higher up that was in such a position, to allow someone to distribute antiquated software for free, rather than the only source providing ...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

For example... I have a copy of 3dxware 3.6.4 for 32bit windows, which supports ancient spaceball devices and is no longer available in the archives. Would there be issues if I made it publicly available? Technically it is already 'public' as it can be found on driverguide . However, they either wan...

Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

First a little history... When I got my first spacemouse, it sparked the OCD in me, and I felt the urge to find out everything I could about them. Google became my best friend, and slowly my collection of bookmarks, images, and PDFs began to take on a life of their own. At the same time, my personal...

Re: 3Dconnexion/Blender Beta Feedback

This is great! Love hearing back-story on the history of these devices.

Now that we have completely derailed this thread, I think I better start a new one for antique hardware, and return this to talk of Blender Compatibility...

Re: 3Dconnexion/Blender Beta Feedback

Hi Tehrasha, That's a SpaceOrb. I dont think so.... I have a SpaceOrb. It has the same basic design, in that it is a handheld controller, but the button layout and that large... (trackball/d-pad?).. for the left thumb are all different. Notice the differences.... Spaceball Avenger SpaceOrb360 ASCII...

Atari Jaguar Spaceball Controller

Thanks jwick! I will add this info to the site. I saw a 'Space Controller' on eBay recently, but thought it was simply a diff model of 3003 so never bothered with it further. Bummer. :( I had also seen a CIS controller ball on eBay, but did not include it as it appeared to be an industrial / worksta...

Over the last several months, I have been gathering historical information on every make and model of 3D Mouse that I could find. Then finding a way to present that information in one location. http://spacemice.wikidot.com/ Additionally, after sharing my information with the spacenav developers, and...

Update:: The 3DMouse code was rolled into Blender's main branch some time ago. All current version of Blender 2.6x have it built in. Still much refining left to do. Currently, all motion is relative to a fixed point, usually the last selected object that you 'fit' to the viewport. Holding shift allo...

Re: Blender 2.61 Question

Hi, my Space Navigator is working in Blender 2.61, except pressing up and pulling down is not working? Also, it seems the camera has to always be fixed on an object to fly around, but in Max you can fly around without being fixed on anything? Currently, all motion is relative to a fixed point, usua...

NECRO POST For anyone still monitoring this thread, Blender 2.59 now has integrated NDOF support through spacenavd. This includes all current models and most older spacemice USB and serial! (lcd displays not yet supported) Source can be patched for the use of the older 'Magellan' devices. Still work...

What I have been able to gather..... SpaceNav support is going to be incorporated into the Blender code rather than as a plugin. Current Blender developers are focusing on getting Blender out of Beta and into a stable release before they start adding features. Mike Erwin made serious headway with Sp...
