Hi, I moved the post to here ("Legacy devices for Unix/Linux"); looks like you have a SpaceBall 4000 or 5000. We can not reproduce the problem you describe. - What kernel version do you have? - Do you have a x86_64 Linux? - What device are you using? (SpaceBall 4000 or 5000? USB or serial?...

Great! Thanks, Jake! I recommend to grep for the number of the device and not "Logitech". This could fail if you have other Logitech devices (mouse, keyboard, ...) that are listed before the navigation controller. For the next release I have no exact date, but it should come out within the...

Hello all! We finally had to learn that it is not possible to mount easily the usbfs with SuSE 10.2. :( But we found out that it is possible to address the device via /dev/bus/usb (instead of /proc/bus/usb). :!: This is not supported by the actual driver, but we will implement it in our next release...

Hello Dan, unfortunately we don't send out the protocol of our devices. To implement our devices into your application you can use our  SDK . There is an interface for external applications to get the data that is sent by the device. A new version of our SDK is planned for the first quarter o...

Google Earth 4.0.2693 beta still doesn't recognize the device, but then, it's a beta. At http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=275#275 you can see that Google did not yet implement the support for our navigation devices for Google Earth on Linux. I am glad that you finally got the driver...

Has anyone been able to make SpaceTraveler work with Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (AMD64)? Please check http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=266#266 if this could help you. As I already stated there is our support limited to Red Hat EL WS and SuSE Linux. I would also like to use this space to clamor...

Our driver addresses the device via the usbfs. Please make sure it is mounted. You can find this information in our readme: Please make sure you mount the usbfs to get support for the USB controller. To mount USBFS, please do (as root user): mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb You should enter a line ...

Hello Dan, unfortunately we can not give you support for the Java driver for the Spacball 4000, because this is from someone else. For support please contact the person who created this package. Please be aware that the protocol of the Spaceball 4000 and the SpaceBall 5000 are totally different. We ...

Hi nomad! Good to see that we have interested users on Unix/Linux as well ;-) If you don't tell the daemon where to look for the device it assumes that the device is connected to /dev/spaceball. This could be a link to the port where the device is connected. Actually this makes sense for a serial de...
