jwpgroup,
I have seen this issue before, but at this time we are unable to reproduce it in-house. :( As you can imagine this makes it difficult to solve. I have opened an internal bug (tracking #4207) to help track this issue. I hope we will be able to solve it soon.

sput, The configuration panel referred to by ghannigan is part of an older AutoCAD plug-in. It sounds like you are using the most current version of the plug-in for AutoCAD 2006. The plug-in was changed again for AutoCAD 2007 and is great! For now I recommend you stay at the driver level you are usi...

efxtom,
In these cases I like to remove the idea that the hardware has failed. Please try using your SpaceMouse in the "Cube" demo. If the movement is smooth, we know to look at other software issues. If the movement is choppy, you may have malfunctioning hardware.

renderfarmer, Do you get any other errors? Maybe something with an error code? I'm not surprised that the SpacePilot works without the 3DxProENGINEER plug-in loaded. Support for our devices is built into Pro/E. However, without the plug-in, you will not get to take advantage of the full feature set ...
