Re: Windows forum

Yeah, it makes browsing threads a pain to say the least.

I see you are in Iowa, Go Hawkeyes!

"Fit" button, with NX 9

I have a SpaceExplorer, and a brand new CADmouse, both of which have a button mapped to "Fit", but I have never had either work for the "Fit" command.

Any thoughts on getting it to work? I've just reinstalled the latest driver too.

Thanks,
Dave

Non-responsive device

We have a Space Pilot, that was functioning, but now just sits blank. We've tried reinstalling drivers, unplugging, changing usb ports, etc. In another thread, I read about pressing the "menu" and "fit" buttons, while plugging it in, I assume this is a device reboot of some sort....

I tried it on another workstation, with a SpaceExplorer, but an older driver...3.7 I think. The result was the same.

It also does this when putting in a Broken View. Insert, View, Broken View.

Thanks,
Dave

Glad to be back!! I just wish it wasn't because I'm having an issue ;)

I just installed 3.6.10, and the behavior remains.

I forgot to mention, this is on Vista 64, if that might make a difference.

Thanks,
Dave

NX6 and SpacePilot in drafting

NX 6 SpacePilot Driver Release: 3.6.7 Driver Version: 6.6.1 Firmware Version: 3.12 I've noticed that while in Drafting (a 2D environment), and you "expand" a view, the SpacePilot operates in 3 dimensional mode. IE you can rotate, as well as pan. Thus, the expanded view is out of plane with...

Update for anyone that may have the same issue:

I installed the NX64 plugin manually (custom), and now the button mapping works. Also, you can get out of the 2D pan/zoom mode that the plugin puts you into when entering sketcher, by pressing the "3D" button on the SpacePilot.

And how the heck do you turn ON rotation, while in the sketcher, and have it stay that way?

It is waaay to annoying to have to toggle on "rotation" every time I start working in a sketch.

Is this part of my original problem, or a second problem entirely?

Yes, I see the splash-screen. I installed the latest driver by just accepting the defaults, so I'm not sure which plugin is installed, but I'm going to say "both". I see files in both the "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" folders, with the file date of 12/7/2007...

NX5 + Vista64 = no button mapping

I've been having issues with the 3Dconnexion driver, vista, and NX5 for months now, relying on an old driver that allowed rotation, but no button function. Today I got brave, and d/l the latest driver, installed, and fired up NX5.0.2.2mp2. The lcd screen tells me I'm in UGS NX Configuration 2, and i...

Re: thanks

Hi SoCalSwami, Are you saying UGS/NX5 has changed their code to default rotation off? Sorry if that question is too basic, but I want to be sure UGS has changed their code, so I can request they change it back. Have you considered that some (perhaps most) prefer not to rotate when working in Sketch...

Only NX5 64 bit on the machine.

Also, as a test, I loaded NX 5.0.1.4 32bit, and the 3.4.2 driver on a Windows XP 32bit machine. It has a Space Explorer instead of a Space Pilot. I was not able to reproduce the crash on that machine.
