Dynamically binding by pointer hover

Are there any applications that currently do this? Instead of 'permanently' binding a 3dmouse to certain sliders and knobs in a application, have it dynamically bind. Hover the pointer near a slider on the screen (then use 3dmouse to very quickly and precisely move it up and down, or side to side) H...

Puzzle demo (maybe some extra options)

Just some ideas that might make it easier to use for some. Not a big deal though, it also works fine the way it is. When manipulating the entire scene -ability to translate the entire scene, not just rotate it (provide limits so the center still remains in the field of view.) Option to manipulate ca...

Ya, it's like a major gap in which the 3Dmouse would easily fill. I rarely use the 3D apps on my cell phone as the controls make it difficult/awkward to use. It's a shame, as the graphics/res/frame rate are sufficient. The Logitech Revue with Google TV I believe is Android OS based. Navigating Googl...

I should of said iOS and Android support via Bluetooth. Supporting iOS would mean support for both iPads and iPhones. Supporting Android would mean support for both cell phones and tablets using the Android OS. Because of this, a mini version of the 2DOF fling quickly came out, since support for iOS...

Tablet support via bluetooth

Touch screen tablet support would be nice, such as the Apple Ipad, and Android tablets. There's already the dual fling for the Ipad http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/07/fling-ipad-joystick-thumbs-on/ (but not block the screen like the fling does) Perhaps a usb-bluetooth adapter could be hooked up to 3...

Thanks for the info. I suppose the term 3Dmouse was coined because when people hear/see the term 'joystick' they probably envision a large unweildy controller with only a few axis of control, not 6. However, to APIs such as DirectInput, 3Dmouse and joystick both utitilze the same variable/function n...

Google Earth's altitude-based speed-adjustment

The closer to the ground the camera is the slower the controls are. Regardless of whether the controls are keys, 2Dmouse, 3Dmouse/joystick. Slowing down makes sense if one if panning with keys, otherwise what is an ok speed at high altitude ends up being too fast at low altittude. However, with vari...

movement names

I understand what you mean. I suppose terms such as spin and tilt sound more approachable to users unfamiliar with the device.

jwick, do you change the terms in Base.xml, or possibly 3DxConfig.xml ? Or another file?

Terminology ambiguity

Some of the 3DConnexion's directional terms I feel are a bit ambiguous, such as Spin and Tilt, which in other contexts could mean rotation in any direction. Zoom is a bit confusing as well, as pan up/down is usually used to 'zoom' in Google Earth. Perhaps there could be an option to display actions ...

Option of displaying sensitivity axis as graphs

Similar to the brightness, contrast, gamma graphs that use to be in the Nvidia Drivers. It would be nice to have raw input represented along the vertical axis of a graph, then for the horizontal axis the resultant output to the application based upon the product of both the individual axis sensitivi...

Maybe have the option to display as aeronautical terms

Tx - Pan right left - lateral translation
Ty - Pan up down - vertical translation
Tz - zoom - longitudinal translation

Rx - tilt - pitch
Ry - spin - yaw
Rz - roll - roll

Google Earth: Camera speed linked to ground altitude

http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=896352&Number=1344152#Post1344152 This is really noticeable and annoying when going over mountain peaks, the speed changes greatly as you traverse steep slopes. I know this is actually a Google Earth issue, so I guess the reason I'...
