http://graphicall.org/436 this is an experimental 2.58 version with Space Mouse support. I tried it out with my SPP, and it works quite well. The movement is smooth. X- and z-axis are disabled by default, but can be activated by going into fly mode (shift f, mouse over viewport. Esc to leave fly mod...

true, the mouse wheel works similarily in certain applications, in Windows rather rarely. It is more prominent in Mac applications. For 3D applications where the axis are assigned to 3D movement, I would leave out the dynamic thing. Too confusing for the user, although it could be useful for floatin...

the Blender plugin was a bit special in that regard, if you had 4 viewports, the one with the mouse pointer over it was active. As soon as you moved the mouse, the cap was controlling the new viewport. Jim, is it difficult to bring this option into the driver? I find it sometimes difficult to pick t...

that would be a good idea for sound design, but also for compositing/video applications that sometimes also have arrays of sliders. I believe there is a hardware device (external audio card + MIDI controller) from Steinberg that features an encoder that behaves like you describe. When you hover with...

moving a camera is an action. Imagine you would move a camera with the mouse, and you wanted to undo this movement. Then the 'undo action' makes sense. So you only have to leave the camera that you use as viewport in place when you edit the geometry. Switch to other views to check the change, don't ...

as far as I know you can run older versions of 3dsmax if you have a license for the 2012 version. Then it is very recommended to run v.2011 until the day v.2012 is officially supported by 3dx devices/software. It usually takes some months until every driver/software/plugin is ported to the new versi...

ja.
