Hi Mike, the only idea I have by now, but you might have don't that already as you "binned the prefs": Please remove the entry "Cinema 4D" and add your freshly installed Cinema 4D within the driver's prefs panel. Can you also please tell me what functions you're trying to map? Re...

Hi exitcode1, I'm sorry to hear that you've had a crash, apparently with our extension involved. Just a few thoughts and questions on this issue, that might bring us ahead with it: Have you installed all available firmware updates for your MacBookPro? Do you have a virtual machine running, like Virt...

Hi Egonz, so the implementation is done using our driver, which is fine. So for now the hint you can give to the Chimera developers you request some posts ago would be something like: The 3D Mouse events may only be processed when the application is active (is key window). But just to be sure: Pleas...

Hi Egonz, I've an idea on what might go on. Can you please test some things for me: Do changes in your specific configuration apply to Chimera/MacPyMOL? For example if you change the overall speed and/or a button mapping. And does this only apply to the application you did the change for? If you don...

Hello guys, can you please give me some information on your systems: What exact OS X version and machine are you running on? What is the version of your 3DxWare for Mac? To get this information, please open the System Preferences -> 3Dconnexion. If you've installed the official driver you now go to ...

Hello Egonz, nice to hear that you found Chimera working with our 3D Mouse. Not so nice, though very interesting, that on you system all application that support our 3D Mouse are reacting simultaneously - this is not supposed to happen! And yes, normally only the active application should respond to...

Hi eyeJ, this is a really strange problem! Is the Windows machine (you wrote that the LCD works there) the same as the Linux machine? If its a different machine is the SpacePilot connect in the same way on both machines (direct, via extension cable, via hub)? Is the kernel a custom built or the gene...

Hello eyeJ, the script you're using is/was meant to solve an issue with RHEL3 (Kernel 2.4.x). You shouldn't need to use this on recent 2.6.x kernels and you also don't need to mess with your kernel modules :) Reading your post, you write that the LEDs are lit/working. In this case, the LCD should wo...

Hi dbramsen,

I'm glad to read that it now works! :D

GoogleEarth is not working, I'm sorry! Its simply not supported by Google. :(

We already approached Google with this issue and we encourage every user to also approach Google to request support for our devices!

Hi dbramsen, I'm sorry I forgot something: The containing directory "3DxWare" just has drwx------ (0600). It should be drwxr-xr-x (chmod 0655) so that normal users can access the directory with the config files (after being started 3dxsrv switches to the currently logged in user), which is...

Hi dbramsen,

I think I found the reason. Its because of the file permission of the config files. Please change the file persmissions to -rw-r-----

Code: Select all

chmod 0640 /etc/3DxWare/*.scg
This should do the job.

Hello pyalot, the issue you describe with our devices is actually not a bug. Linux or better evdev handles our devices absolutely the way it should be. Our devices register themselves as relative devices. This has historical reasons and may change with future products from 3Dconnexion. Since the dev...
