it seems to me as expected. isometric views can only pan. if you rotate it becomes user view. SN is outputing all axes so the viewport becomes user. using something like viewport.setType #view_top for example resets to previous type. i think you could enhance this not to zoom to bounds.

the controller is an input device which doesn't rely on drivers, if you look in device manager under human interface devices (HID) you'll see it uses standard microsoft driver. from windows' point of view it's just another type of input device like mouse joystick etc. directx api and 3dconnexion sdk...

with the mouse you don't get that many increments. i guess that's why the video card slows if it can't keep up with the poly/object number.

did you try to increase sensitivity at maximum? more like bigger increments.

3.3.2 driver unusable in 3dsmax

i've installed the new drivers and photoshop cs3 is ok. but 3dsmax 9 is completely unusable. the screen flickers with each increment and performance droped many times (i get a 3-4x loss in fps). it's like after each tiny increment max reverts to default camera and then back to navigator's (the viewp...

Well I use it when working with high poly number that slow the viewport performance and I'm sure others do as well. Perhaps where the plugin changes back the viewport name ("3DxStudio Perspective" -> "Perspective") when you stop using SN it should also trigger a viewport redraw a...

Minor problem in Max9 sp1

I've found a small issue with Max and viewport degradation. I've tested on d3d and software z-buffer with the same result, so it seems it's not a video driver problem. 1 - enable adaptive degradation (set active degradation to bounding box only for test) 2 - from wireframe mode rotate/pan the view w...
