Re: HTML5 Gamepad API Doesn't work in FF

It works on Chromium browsers (Chrome and Opera) because the Chromium engine accesses controllers via Raw Input. If FF and other browsers would also have GamePad API access Raw Input then it would work there as well. That JavaScript joystick plugin was merely a stop-gap until GamePad API arrived. Ga...

Re: Documentation for the 3Dconnexion Navigation Library Ser

With GamePad API no plugins are required. Checkout on http://html5gamepad.com/ on Chromium browsers (Chrome,Opera) on Windows, you can independently monitor all USB HID devices like 3DMice simultaneously, just make sure you press the controller button to activate. (BTW you might see an unknown devic...

Re: Space Navigator Premiere Pro Timeline

Drats, I thought it would just involve changing a line or 2 in the XML file to port to other OSs, with only minor incompatibilities such as no right mouse click on the Mac. Keycodes I'm pretty sure are cross-platform though, being USB-HID codes. Just found out that you can press ctrl mouse click to ...

Re: Space Navigator Premiere Pro Timeline

I would assume that the 3DMouse XML format is the same across platforms. The keycodes should be the same across platforms. Instead of Adobe Premiere Pro.exe I think it would be a file that ends in .dmg. I'm not sure where the XML files go on Macs, maybe someone here familiar with Macs can assist. I ...

Re: Google Earth street view?

I have combined Google Streetview with AGI Cesium, controlled with a 3DMouse, though this was just a test, I haven't added it to the webapp yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAetu_eeFHU&index=17&list=PLu7ubzox5Ny6JIhF_tfsOuCMDtsro6ENh I did this with Google Earth Plugin also https://www.youtube.c...

Re: SpaceNavigator works with Chrome but not with Firefox

GamePad API isn't a very good name as it actually covers more than just gamepads. Gamepad API gives webpages access to inputs of many types of controllers. The Chromium engine that powers Chrome and Opera browsers access 3DMice via Raw Input. Apparently Mozilla doesn't have a Raw Input solution. I d...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

The SpaceOrb is a definite improvement in button arrangement from the Avenger. The thumb can simultaneously control a pair of buttons, either D&F or C&E. The forefinger can also simultaneously control A&B. Such as -just A with the tip of the finger -just B with the joint of the finger -both A&B pres...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

A 12 DOF ScreenMan would be great for productivity work on the go. Place it on a stand so at times you can free a hand for the touch screen. Instead of switching between controlling the camera and controlling an object you could do both at the same time, which is a feature I plan to add to a program...

Re: Antique Spacemice Hardware/Software

Can you get a hold of one of these tablets? https://youtu.be/oIbXW3BVaAI?t=1m43s It would be nice to have this as an addon module to any tablet. Imagine having a 3dMouse on each side of the tablet for dual action (control the camera and object simultaneously.) http://www.3dconnexion.com/company/indu...

Re: Sketchup controls similar to Google Earth

Google Earth Google seems to be retracting from the virtual globe business. Google Earth API (which 6DOF Google Earth uses) will shut down this December 2015. http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.com/2014/12/announcing-deprecation-of-google-earth.html By 2010 they stopped adding features. By 2012 th...

Re: 10 Year Old Software using Spacemouse Wireless (PC-Dmis)

Well you can invoke 2D mouse buttons via 3D mouse buttons, or as a keyboard key modifier. However, I don't think you can invoke it any other way, at least not conventionally. You might be able to create 2 axis tags both with same input source and input range, assuming you can't have 2 types of outpu...

Re: 10 Year Old Software using Spacemouse Wireless (PC-Dmis)

Apparently modifiers are only for when you use keyboard output, but you're using 2D mouse output. You might be able to do both 2D mouse output with the keyboard control key at the same time. You might also be able to do 2D mouse output with a mouse button at the same time, but I'm not positive about...

Re: 10 Year Old Software using Spacemouse Wireless (PC-Dmis)

Well one thing you can do is verify that the modifiers are still working. For testing purposes change RightMouse to LeftMouse and change executable to notepad.exe and change transport to KMJ. Then open a text file (the xml files are text files, for example) and try it out. You should be able to sele...

Re: 10 Year Old Software using Spacemouse Wireless (PC-Dmis)

For 2D pan you should have this within the output tags: <Modifiers> <Modifier>RightMouse</Modifier> </Modifiers> For 3D rotate you should have this within the output tags: <Modifiers> <Modifier>RightMouse</Modifier> <Modifier>Control</Modifier> </Modifiers> Do neither of these work? Actually I can't...
