Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Add the line to the work (away) PC to get the spacemouse working. Once the RDP settings are added it doesn't matter if you use the one at home or the one in the office. You may be able to get away with just adding the KMJ line but it didn't work for me earlier in the year so I added the longer set o...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Hello, You could try this example of a global file. First section is generic to each user and version of software so can be ignored up the </Settings> Next section is button actions 3rd section is the buton bank. There is possibly a simpler way to achieve this but I have only had success doing it as...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
I've not had any success getting the cadmouse to work via remote desktop.
One workaround would be to have 3dconnexion installed on both client & remote computers.
On the client PC setup key macros to that activate commands on Catia/other cad software.

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Not sure what files you have but have a look at the attached global.xml that I use to get the spacemouse keys working via RDC. Using notepad++ helps to view in xml format. Not used the base.xml method but it may give you an idea of how to get it working. Section 1 setups the keys Next 4 sections are...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
You might be able to make use of the cad mouse by creating keybaord macros on the client laptop/pc
And creating macros/mapkeys with the same keys on the host pc.

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Hello, I use this global.xml file that I tidied up with notepad++ and allows the other keys to work. Located in: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg First create a fresh global.xml file and then looking at whats differnt between the two. Also I'm not sure what will happen if yo...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Global.xml & CAD app xml file attached I recommend doing the following.... Stop spacemouse driver In C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg delete global.xml & other CAD.xml files start spacemouse driver (will create new global.xml), backup this file elsewhere Start CAD ap...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Tested again tonight with just the extra bits in the global. XML file to suit nx but can easily be edited to suit other apps. The ugnx.xml now only contains assignments for cad related buttons. All keys work in all modes in cad. Some cad only have one mode. Will attach files in the morning. Still do...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
I think I've got mine working today.
I hear it working earlier in the year with Creo.
Now using nx and today fixed some of the files.
I'll check later and if it works I'll put add the files.
No idea if it will work with other cad .
Ant.

BramR,
What happens to the space mouse buttons if you go back into office and use actual cad pc if the Base.xml file is different?

Jwick,
So does latest software not use Global.xml?
This was the edited file that included the RDP keys.

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
I found that for the spacemouse the XML file had to be edited on the remote server.
For a CADmouse any changes had to be done on the client PC.

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
Our company only got it working remotely through Azure remote desktop after changing the relevent gpedit settings at client & host. It doesn't work via the normal rdp as I think there are some security issues/vpn that prevent usb throughput to the host. In Azure the spacemouse works quite well a...

Re: Remote Desktop use of local Space Navigator
So far I have only managed to trick the spacee mouse into using DELETE by creating a mapkey in Creo called delete and then telling the spacemouse to use the mapkey. Not found a way yet to simulate CTRL & SHIFT but may try later. I've googled many times looking for alternate key codes for CTRL &a...
