You won't have to wait another quarter. Send me an NDA! I'm more than ready to beta test. I use applications ALL DAY that have some sort of 3D space to navigate, but none are from developers who are willing to spend their money to create support for your product in their software. So beta drivers f...

Oh yeah if you can afford a Cintiq, get it! I used a "normal" Wacom tablet for years before I finally broke down and got a Cintiq. Nothing ocmpares to drawing right there on the screen! (I wiish my SpacePilot worked with my software that would be the perfect work environment :D the SpacePi...

If the program you want to use the 3D Connexion product with, is specifically listed as being suppoted, then buy it. If not, save your money unless you want an expensive paperweight. I spend all of my time in Lightwave, Swift 3D, After Effects, Proanimator and a half a dozen other programs in which ...

You have to wait for 3DxWare 7.x, which will be included in a 3DxSoftware 4.x package. Hi jwik, Its been about 3 months since the last time I checked. Can I download drivers yet that will let me program the buttons and knob movements of my SpacePilot to send keystrokes to ANY application yet? Is th...

Shibby it is pretty sad and I was shocked to find that my SpacePilot, which was definitely not "free" :) didn't support ANY of the 3D applications I use. They are working on new versions of the software that will let you map the controls to keystrokes in any application. As you can see in ...

Thanks Jim. I'd like to take advantage of the upgrade/trade-in of a SpacePilot for a SpacePilot PRO, but I don't want to waste my money if I can't use it for any of the programs I use. I think that once you guys support the ability to map the buttons and knob/stick movements of your controllers to k...

Jim,

I see 3.7.16 was released today.

Is this the version that will let me use my SpacePilot with any program by allowing me to program it to send keystrokes to any application when I press a button or move the knob?

Thanks,

Jeron

Thanks for the feedback, Jim. If I buy a SpacePilot Pro, will I be able to map the buttons and the knob movements to keyboard keystrokes for any application? Or does, "I'm not going to support trying to use kb functions on axes with that driver." mean that the movements of the knob (axes?)...

Well said Knox...

I'd even buy one of the new Spacepilot Pros if I could map the control knob and buttons to keystrokes for any application.

Jim, any more news on the "mid-April" beta test for this driver?

If I could program the keys and knob movements to keyboard keystrokes, I could use my SpacePilot.

Yes. But it doesn't work well with the driver you have. Wait for the mid-April driver and it'll work somewhat more acceptable. I'll tell you how to use it then. A lot more work is required to make an good general solution to this need. It is being worked on--we do listen to our users (regardless of...
