Ngnomes, Ok so if SolidWorks made a change was it due to partnership agreements with 3Dconnexion? According to another moderator's post, it sounds like the change was originated from 3Dconnexion. ----------------- Hi jalcad 3Dconnexion doesn't support serial devices under Windows any more. I have not tested the configuration of 3.5.5 personally. I may have jumped the gun here. Be aware that at any time there may be a newer driver that would disallow this compatibility so advice it to keep your driver downloads if you find one that works. -Edited 11-13-07 to preface the below comments....

SolidWorks 2008 Serial SpaceBall 4000/5000/Spacemouse FIX!
In the SolidWorks.com customer portal knowledge base I found this solution. I tried it out to test it and modified the solutions referenced driver version from 3.3.2 to the 3.4.2 which is the only one available. Also after installing the older driver 2.8.2, install the 3.4.2, but only the SolidWorks...
