I've just been playing with this. I think by default the device needs some acceleration in Blender (I've cranked it up to 2 notches from the end of the "Overall Speed" slider). I think the best reference for how the interface should feel is that of 3DS Max, for the way the device intuitive...

Blender 2.46 has been released with the 3dconnexion support, but it is just as horrible as it was in the beta. You really have to play with the driver settings to get the responsiveness. I'm going to play with several of the areas where I reported perceived bugs in the past and see if any improvemen...

Regarding Blender bugs, I have a thread going here: http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1521 You did grab the NDOF release of Blender, right? Some tips just to get you going: - assign "Button1" to the left button on the 3DNavigator - assign "Button2" to the right - C...

This thread: http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=817 already documents how far this conversation will go. What we're waiting to read is "Our PM department has revisited this request based on the overwhelming 80,000 views of the generic driver one of our users coded in their spare t...

Hi ngomes, People want a generic driver to do common HID functions, point and case: 80,000 views of this thread regarding a driver written by one of your very own users using your API: ( http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=336 ). I don't understand where the debate exists. When you're i...

gnomes, we're not a bunch of dumb users without knowledge of the computer hardware industry. Some of us know what we're talking about. I work for a hardware vendor and we're #1 in our market segment. We have a million bells and whistles and our own niche, yet at heart we can still do the most basic ...

More on the turntable zoom in/out bug If I go into turntable (as stated before), I can't zoom in (push up) or out (pull back), but I found tonight if I change my view with the mouse, the Navigator suddenly responds correctly and I can zoom in and out. (This work around worked intermittently for an ...

Where is the modified blender source code for NDOF?

Hi there,

I have the source for the driver itself from the downloaded plugin. Which blender source was used? Does the source itself need to be modified to support the plugin? Is there any documentation on this?

Thanks!

Re: WHAT!!!!

Hi shaund, Create a Generic driver!!!! To emulate key presses, mouse and joystick data? What exactly would a "generic" driver be? We cannot simply dismiss the current installed user base and the range of current 3D apps. Yes. Look at Wacom's Intuos3 driver, for example. It gives a plethor...
