Many of my renders are now turning out with the camera all messed up, because I might tap the controller right before I save the scene, etc. I'm rethinking now if I want to get the next version of the controller up. This is a huge problem.

True, but that option makes it hard for me to work. Using the pivot of the selected object works much better for me. I gotta stick to that mode until a fix is made. Thanks for working on the problem though.

No, not at all. It isn't reflected in the keyframes in any way.

It's not something that could be shown in a screenshot. I touch the navigator in any way, and it moves the camera, even though it's keyed. The movement doesn't show up in the keys, or anywhere else exept for the fact that the camera has moved. Thanks

No, autokey is definitely not on. It doesn't do this if I move the camera with the mouse while in the camera viewport. Anyone else having this problem? I'm on Maya 2008 by the way, on Windows XP SP3. Thanks

P.S.

This has to be done every time the scene is opened, which is extremely annoying.

Ok, I seem to have gotten lucky and found a fix. If I go to the channels of the camera, select the translate and rotate channels, and right click and click on copy, when i move the already keyed camera with the navigater it goes back to it's original position reflecting the keys correctly when the f...

I also have the problem of the controller affecting a camera that is already keyed in Maya. Even if all of the channels are keyed or locked, it still messes it up, without changes the keyframes, and the only solution to fix the camera is to go to a previous scene and get an old cam, which isn't avai...

Plugin

Thanks flomotan. It works great. The motion now is incredibly smooth now, and I'm exited about learning Maya in a more natural and intuitive way. Thanks again. I'm sure everyone will be itching to try it.

Maya

Thinking about purchasing for use with Maya on a Mac? I don't think so. Check out this - viewtopic.php?t=1627 - before you do.

A Year Later

Hey guys. I bought my Space Navigator about a year ago. What all of you are writing is what I went through when I bought it. Way too jerky to use in Maya on a Mac. I went through all of the "customer support" too, to no avail, and they wouldn't give me my money back citing that "it do...

Well, I guess I'll post here because I am also incredibly disappointed. I posted the "Maya 8.5 on OSX" post. It still doesn't work right, after they said that they would fix the bug in their drivers. I'm trying to return it now, and they left a message saying that it does work with maya, w...

Hello, just wanted to check in to see how the progress is going on the fix for the issue. Do you have an ETA on that? Thanks
