Just to add - read on another thread on this forum that the last version that works with the base SpacePilot model is 3DxWare64 v10.4.10 .
Later versions have had the SpacePilot configurations removed and at least, up to now (Apr 2018), will not work.

hi LexlRexl I have similar controller and OS and use 3DxWare64_v10-4-10_r2558 which works well (with some issues relating to plugging/unplugging mid session). The software shows the correct controller but also states it is not supported. Had no problems in normal use and keys and LCD work as intende...

Fixed by reinstalling Windows using Windows Refresh and then installing 10.4 driver

Received reply - run ms fixit program - not fixed but in comms

SUbmitted support request on Monday - other than the 'received' email had no reply.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal - should I just be patient?

Update - I received a working replacement from the company I bought the Pilot from and now have a working and a non working Space pilot which I managed to get apart and having followed a similar repair to above, it still doesn't work. Hi I had installed 3dWare v10.4.10 and intended to try v.10.5.5 but when the old version was uninstalled and the machine restarted, it hung on the shutdown screen and after a few minutes I turned it off. On restart I was unable to either install the old or new versions - receiving a 1604 error code....

Hi - thanks for the advice but the space pilot has been out of warranty for years and this is my last try before ditching it, so if there is anybody who would be willing to share info on how to get it apart they might just be helping to reduce landfill.

Hi, I have a similar problem - keys do not work in anything - and wanted to try and open the Spacepilot to see but having taken off the (14) screws on the bottom cant see how to progress to take off the control knob and remove the bottom. Any advice on the take apart process ? Best wishes, nicksoph
