Re: 3dsMax Button Config Between Versions

Hi Mike,

I'd like to see your saved Max cfg files (%appdata%/...3DxWare/Cfg). Can you PM them to me? (dropbox or such).

Thanks.

Re: How to dedicate lock zoom (without toggle) to a mouse or keyboard button

What device?

There is a way of doing this with some 3D mouse device buttons, but the GUI is not going to help you.

It takes some XML file editing. I can walk you through it if you want to tackle it.

Re: 3DxWare stopped unexpectedly

There are two problems here. 1) There's a problem with Import. It drops files in the middle of a running driver. More than likely the files are from an old CfgFormatVersion (because you saved them in an older driver). The driver doesn't handle the upgrade of these correctly when they drop down from ...

Re: Universal button and macro settings

Then make a ButtonActions section. I'd put it between these two lines: </Settings> <ButtonActions> <ButtonAction Type="Menu"> <ID>RadialMenu_MenuRM_52b0a632-b696-4cfe-8719-cd754eed3535</ID> <Name>Bureautique</Name> <MenuID>MenuRM_52b0a632-b696-4cfe-8719-cd754eed3535</MenuID> </ButtonAction> </Button...

Re: Universal button and macro settings

Part of this doesn't work as well as I'd hope. The Menu can not be defined in Global. We don't read Menus from there at this time. I've created an enhancement request for it. You need to put the Menu in Base.xml. This also means it will get overwritten every time you do an upgrade to a new 3DxWare v...

Re: 3DxWare stopped unexpectedly

Hello smthu, Could you please do the following: 1) Start the driver if it is not already running (Start Menu->3Dconnexion->Start 3DxWare) 2) Right click on the 3Dx systray icon -> Write Log File 3) Stop the driver (Start menu) 4) Restart the driver (so I can see the log file from the beginning) 5) R...

Re: Universal button and macro settings

I see that you have created an eight section RadialMenu "Bureautique" that has a macro, Union, and some keyboard keys (Enter, Cut, Paste, delete, etc). You have also create some other macros (Menu, j+Entrée, Analyse/Distance). You have assigned the Radial menu to your SpaceNavigator Left button and ...

Re: Universal button and macro settings

A video is a great idea. But sorry, we have no facilities for that. The GUI should do all this for you. I never intended to have users editing files. If you made a change while Topsolid was running, you should have a file: %appdata%\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg\Topsolid.xml (just type/paste that whole th...

Re: Universal button and macro settings

Hello Alexscouce64, There is no GUI support for this, but the driver supports it. You have to do it manually by editing some XML files. You need to move the XML entries from the application-specific XML file to the Global.xml file. These files will all be in %appdata%/3Dconnexion/3DxWare/Cfg. It's b...

Re: Pressed/Released events

I've confirmed that the GUI control was removed. It is a user preference. There is nothing in our API to control it, but you can use any XML tool to modify the XML file. This is a relevant snippet: <Menu Type="Radial"> <Name>RM Views</Name> <ID>Base_MenuRM2</ID> <GesturesEnabled>true</GesturesEnable...

Re: Pressed/Released events

I think this is "Gesture mode". You can disable it...

I thought there was a way of doing this in the GUI but I can't find it.
It is controlled by an XML file setting in the <Menu> (<GesturesEnabled>) if you don't like it.
