Re: 3ds max 2020 is cursed?

The same issue persists in 10.6.7. I assume a bug report is not enough for a bug to be tackled. Well, fair enough. Wait for more. Indeed, when you are at the bottom of the ratings already why not to save a couple of bucks for a beer far from those damn problems. For normal folks out there look...

Re: 3ds max 2020 is cursed?

So the only way of using 3d mice in 3ds max 2020 currently is to roll back to 10.6.0. It has the old movement scale algorithm, which is great and hasn't been showing any abnormal activity so far which is surprising and satisfying at the same time. I'm wondering why nobody from "tech support" hasn't ...

Re: 3ds max 2020 is cursed?

The easiest way to reproduce the driver crash is the following: In quad viewports layout, start moving 3D mouse hovering any of viewports and while moving click on another viewport. Immediate movement hang follows with no way to recover without 3ds max restart. This seems to be the most precise desc...

Re: 3ds max 2020 is cursed?

Ok, it's a bit trickier to reproduce than I thought. So it seems that it breaks in the following scenario: Customize User Interface / Mouse / AutoFocus Viewport - should be turned on. If you pre-click another viewport prior to any movement with the mouse it works. But if you hover the mouse pointer ...

3ds max 2020 is cursed?

Hello again, Please do the following: Open 3ds max 2020.3 Empty scene opens. Maximized Perspective view by default on my side. All good so far. Unmaximize to Quad view. Still working in Persp view. A single click on an ortho view (left, right, etc) 3D mouse stops working at all, no movement, it's di...

Re: 3dsmax2019 cameramode switch randomly to target mode

I would like to throw in my vote for bringing back the old navigation speed algorithm. Or at least to be able to select it in the setting from the two: world center and focus distance. Actually each of them might be useful, but there are different projects with different scales and objects counts. I...

Re: 3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

New BETA installation UI survey release? Seriously? How is that more important than major functionality issues in several packages in 10.6.5? I realize this group of customers might be a minority, but does this really so much irrelevant to you? Why even bother creating drivers for 3ds max and Sketch...

Re: 3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

You guys feel comfy not having any competition at all out there, don't you? How such a messy release is even possible? Twice in a row, unbelievable! The third fail will definitely have noticeable consequences on your sales, have no doubts about that. I can't stress enough how it distracts my workflo...

Re: 3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

Is there a way of setting up a switch to Camera Mode to a keystroke? Some XML magic maybe, no? It would be a great temporary solution until new drivers released next month... :x

Re: 3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

Turning on the "Only navigate the 3D view" option in the "Other Options" tab helps to avoid accidental switches but this works only in multiple viewports layout. Maximize an Ortho Viewport and 3D mouse works and breaks the mode again. Locked Camera non-undoable moving problem isn't solved completely...

Re: 3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

The driver version I used was the latest at the time of posting. 3DxWare 10.6.4 3DxWinCore 17.6.4.16911 SpaceMouse Pro (FW: 4.34) 3ds max 2020 SP3 Windows 10 Pro x64 The overall navigation experience has been improved significantly. They've implemented some kind of smart proximity algorithm which wo...

3ds max 2020 Navigation Mode is broken

Hi dev team. Unfortunately, there's another bug in the last release, although the new camera movement algorithm is very very good! Nice job there really, was dreaming of this for years! Anyhow, here's how to reproduce the nav mode bug. Set the navigation to Camera Mode (my default one). Working good...
