Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Assuming it is on the HW level (pretty sure it is, but will recheck) - no secret HID command that would influence/kill this filtering? I remember an old thread from a user that re purposed a 3dx device as a sensor in an experiment or something and needed to get rid of any hw dead band filtering. You...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Haven't tried yet but will do later when back at home. Missed your message - didn't receive an email notification as usual. So thanks for the hint but doesn't the response curve just influence linearity? Not sure if my explanations were clear enough: - the issue is that the output is always slightly...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

@jwick / 3dconnexion Asking for your help here: As planned I've implemented a solution that intercepts the data before 3dxservice and applies a coordinate system rotation. This happens transparently from the point of view of 3dxservice. It just issues it's ReadFile/GetOverlappedResult calls and gets...

Re: 3dxware 10, Disable application support

My observation is that regardless of grab nx looses the input focus in terms of rotation/translation. Also the 3dx UI announces the name of the application that has the focus. The thing is that even when grab worked it didn't allow to switch between legit 3d apps. E.g. using the mouse in Fusion360 a...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Thank you. But 90° still doesn't quite cut it. Still using the mechanically 45" modified space navigator instead of the wireless one. Really can't manage ergonomically with the button placement. Actually I started working yesterday night on a software solution by intercepting and transforming t...

Re: 3dxware 10, Disable application support

Okay, so with the current version <Grab> doesn't work anymore. This is so INCREDIBLY ANNOYING!!! Now even the command line scrolls with the 3d mouse. Really? Who needs this? What is the idea? There is 3d software that works in conjunction with other tools e.g. a command line, parameter table in exce...

Re: 3dxware 10, Disable application support

Updated to 10.2.8 and the solution of deleting undesired profiles/xmls does not work anymore. I can't express how annoying it is to fight completely unnecessary functionality (who really _needs_ a 3D mouse in Windows Explorer ?!!?) to get back actually required functionality (retain control of the m...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

The setup is pretty easy and works fine. I use NX and Fraps to display the view port frame rate, Vsync off. The frame rate with the test model easily reaches ~290Hz while moving the model with fast logitech gaming mouse (device update rate speced at 1000Hz). - Using the Space Explorer, Space Pilot o...

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Okay - thank you. That makes sense.

Do you have information regarding the low update rate? The thing is that I need a quick clarification just in case that there is no solution to return the device in time for a refund :(

Re: Configuration of device orientation possible?

Yes - I was sure that this would be 'special'. Windows is all I need so if there is a way I would appreciate further information on how to proceed. I opened another thread regarding the low update/sampling rate with the wireless device - I hope that can be solved otherwise I will return the device. ...
