I mapped the S key to one of my buttons on my SpaceNavigator by using the 3DxWare Control Panel. Click on the Button Configuration tab, then click on Custom Functions..., then click New. I named mine "Shortcut Bar" and simply typed a single S in the lower box and saved it. Now back on the ...

AutoCAD and 3Dconnexion devices don't really play nice together. 2D isn't really the intended audience. I had much better luck in AutoCAD using a Belkin *** ******** and setting up the macros for my AutoCAD commands, and just using the Navigator for Inventor / SolidWorks

It zooms to the cursor by default. I have noticed that there's a setting in the SolidWorks plugin that will try to keep the model within the display, so it snaps you back if you try to zoom in so far that the rotation point of the model is outside the display area. If you disable this option it work...

The constant answer from the 3Dconnexion people is that AutoCAD is too difficult of an environment to develop for, so I wouldn't expect it to progress much farther, if at all, than it already has. There are numerous topics on the subject in this forum from various users. ********************* Edit: ...

I've had the same issues in both AutoCAD 2007 and 2008, it's unusable for the most part even when it doesn't lockup AutoCAD. Fortunately we're moving towards SolidWorks where it works wonderfully. Another note: the RBC9 driver is pretty raw, I tinkered around with it for a while and it's fine after ...

I downloaded RBC9 program and I think with a little luck I'll get it to work. Too bad 3D Connection doesn't offer a program like this for more use of this equipment. They're missing the boat. And no matter how many times their customers tell them that, they don't get it. This topic has been hashed ...

Unfortunately the 3dconnexion representatives that post on this board seem to be unable to perceive the merits of more utility for their devices, responding with the same canned responses to post after post. I've given up trying to communicate with them. See this post for more: http://www.3dconnexio...

Another question: What prevents 3dconnexion, as a subsidiary, division, or whatever you are, of Logitech from drawing from their resource pool for assistance with writing a generic HID driver? If Logitech made awesome hardware and then said "We provide an SDK for software developers to add supp...

This is exactly what this device needs in order to get more mainstream attention as a viable input device. I own two SpaceNavigators, one for home and one for work, and they're great when you're working in an application that supports them. However, I constantly find myself trying to use it with Fir...
