Re: Solidworks - Unable to move components in "Z" axis

Thank you, I had forgotten it was a registry edit.

Re: Solidworks - Unable to move components in "Z" axis

The "Move Selected Objects" option is turned on, I can rotate individual components and move them left, right, up, and down relative to the screen. What I CAN'T do is move only one component of an assembly toward or away from the screen in order to shift its position within the assembly.

Re: Solidworks - Unable to move components in "Z" axis

The Z axis is not simply disabled. I am able to use all functions in the assembly (pan, rotate, zoom), I simply can't move individual components perpendicular to the screen, and I don't see any options to turn it on or off.

Solidworks - Unable to move components in "Z" axis

When using the "Move Selected Objects" option in an assembly, you used to be able to move the parts in the "Z" axis relative to the screen. Is there an option to turn this back on? I know its "confusing" to a lot of people, but I am used to it and it really speeds up lo...

It does seem to have fixed the perpetual scrolling problem, however, it has made me notice something else. When in assembly mode, scrolling slows down whenever the filename of a part/sub-assembly scrolls under the mouse arrow. On a large assembly, it makes for a slow scrolling process to go from top...

I hadn't calibrated it recently, but I tried that with no change in the results.

Scrolling in Solidworks 2010 64bit

I just recently upgraded my computer to use Windows 7 64bit, and I've noticed an odd effect when scrolling in the feature tree of SolidWorks 2010. If I have a long feature tree, and I start scrolling with my SpacePilot from one end to the other, it will continue to scroll after I have let go of the ...

Actually, it sounds more like he's looking for the option "Moved Selected Objects" In your 3Dcontrol Properties box, put a check next to "Move Selected Objects" on the Options tab. That will let you move a part around in an assembly while it is selected. When no parts are selecte...

AutoCAD plugin not working

For some reason, I can't get my SpacePilot to work in AutoCAD 2008. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, and I made sure it installed the AutoCAD plugin. When I open AutoCAD, I don't see the 3Dx toolbar, and the SpacePilot isn't able to pan/zoom.

Custom Profile location

Where are the custom profiles typically saved? My computer is getting an upgrade, and I'd like to save my current SolidWorks profiles, but I'm not sure where to look for them.

Not sure what Windows you tested it in (if it makes a difference), but I'm running XP 32 bit.

You might try putting solidworks under a load by opening more than one large model along with the drawing.

I would send one of my models, but the files that I've had problems with are too big to send by email.

It must be only on complex assemblies. I've checked a few part drawings and small assembly drawings, but they dont seem to require the redraw effect that my large assembly drawings do.

Problem with SolidWorks with latest drivers

In large assembly drawings in SolidWorks 2010, the views need to be redrawn anytime you zoom in or out. With the latest driver package (3.9.0) it isn't doing a redraw unless I use my regular mouse to zoom. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled 3.8.3 and it seems to be working correctly, so I am ...
