GibbsCAM Users Take Control with 3Dconnexion Devices
December 15, 2003 Partner Release

MOORPARK, CA - December 16, 2003 - Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software for programming computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, announced today that GibbsCAM 2004 includes support for 3Dconnexion's award-winning line of motion controllers allowing easier and more natural manipulation and visual inspection of models and manufacturing processes.

"GibbsCAM is recognized as the CAM industry's ease-of-use leader," states Bill Gibbs, president and founder of Gibbs and Associates. "Integrating 3Dconnexion's 3D motion controllers further enhances GibbsCAM's usability, making the users' interaction with 3D parts and processes even more efficient."

"We are very pleased that GibbsCAM users can now take advantage of our industry-standard motion controllers, allowing them to work in a natural, intuitive way, sharing the work load between both hands and cutting down on mouse movement ," says Jan Larsson, Director of Partner Marketing at 3Dconnexion.

With the motion controller in one hand, and the mouse in the other, the user uses both hands to interact with the GibbsCAM software, dramatically reducing time and mouse movement compared to using just the mouse and keyboard. A built-in control panel enables users to map commonly used functions to buttons on the 3D motion controller further enhancing interaction efficiency.

GibbsCAM 2004 is now shipping to customers worldwide. Maintenance subscribers can also download the version from the company's web site, www.GibbsCAM.com. It supports 3Dconnexion's - SpaceBall®, SpaceMouse®, and SpaceTraveler™ motion controllers. More information about these products is available at www.3dconnexion.com.
