Alibre Adds Support for 3Dconnexion Motion Controllers
Aug. 18, 2003 Partner Release

Free SpaceNavigator keyboard included with Alibre Design Professional

RICHARDSON, Texas, August 18, 2003 - Alibre Inc. today announced that Alibre DesignTM and Alibre Design Professional now support 3D motion controllers from 3Dconnexion including the SpaceBall®, SpaceMouse®, CadMan®, SpaceNavigatorTM, and the SpaceTravelerTM.

The two-handed interface revolutionized by 3Dconnexion enables designers to improve productivity by up to 30% and lessen discomfort by reducing the amount of mouse movement by nearly 50%. 3Dconnexion's motion controllers are currently the de facto industry standard in the CAD/CAM market and include customers from all segments of the industry.

Alibre and 3Dconnexion are running a promotion whereby a free SpaceNavigator motion control keyboard will be included with each copy of Alibre Design Professional purchased between August 11 and September 30, 2003, a value of $299. Alternatively, customers can opt for other 3Dconnexion devices at reduced prices. See the Alibre web site for more details: www.alibre.com/programs/partners/3Dconnexion/.

"Alibre's new SpaceBall interface eases navigation and makes me a more productive designer," said Bob Gay, a design engineer who uses Alibre Design. "The Alibre Design SpaceBall interface operates just like the Unigraphics interface I've used for years. We asked Alibre to add support for the SpaceBall and they responded quickly!"

"Not only do users of Alibre Design get excellent value in the software alone, they now get support for the standard in 3D motion controllers," said Niraj Swarup, vice president, worldwide marketing for 3Dconnexion Inc. "3Dconnexion and Alibre have an opportunity to put a powerful design solution into the hands of many designers and engineers."

"We're impressed with how much of an impact supporting the 3Dconnexion motion controllers have had," said Greg Milliken, Alibre vice president, sales and marketing. "Our customers are so excited we want to make it as easy as possible for all of them to benefit from the productivity offered by these unique products. Now at under $1,000, anyone can afford professional 3D solid modeling and a motion controller."
