Frequently Asked Questions
Photoshop CS5 for OS X is supported beginning with 3DxMacWare v1.6.1.
64-bit Mode
CS5 introduced significant changes including the ability to run in 64-bit mode. Due to some limitations within Photoshop, a 3D mouse is not currently compatible with Photoshop running under 64-bit mode. A temporary solution is to run Photoshop in 32-bit mode.
Steps to run Photoshop in 32-bit mode
- Open Finder and go to your Applications folder and select "Adobe Photoshop CS5.app"
- Right click on the app name and select "Get Info". An Info window will open up.
- Place a check mark on "Open in 32 Bit Mode"
2D Zoom Performance
When zooming around a 2D image, you may notice that the zoom level continues to change even after you've released the 3D mouse controller cap. You can minimize this effect by zooming-in in increments. Touch the 3D mouse cap to zoom in then release the cap right away. Repeat the process until you reach the desired zoom level.
We understand the process above for zooming is not ideal. We are working with Adobe to improve the zoom performance within CS5.
