Unable to change NX buttons on SpacePilot

Postby jphillips513 » Thu Jul 14, 2011 12:55 pm

We're usin Windows 7, when I try to change buttons on the SpacePilot I get a message saying "please use UGSNX to assign" buttons

Theres no option to assign the buttons in NX
In the old utility in XP there was 3dConnexion Controlpanel

Any thoughts?

Unable to change NX buttons on SpacePilot

Yep, can't do it on a SpaceExplorer either. I posted this months ago and it got lots of views but no replies.

I'm going back to non-beta drivers now to get the button assignment ability back.

I know that was of no help whatsoever, I just thought I'd share what little I knew.

I found the only way to customize the buttons in certain programs is to delete the configuration file (xml file) for that application in the directory:

C:\Program Files\3DConnexion\3DxWare\3DxWinCore32\Cfg

You'll then be able to create a new configuration for the program that will be stored in your AppData folder.

Hope this helps.

For the record, I deleted (renamed) the file in question, and while I can now make changes to the button assignments on my Space Pilot in the 3DConnexion Properties applet, they don't appear to have any effect. For some reason the "L" button brings up the 3D input device panel, T sets the attention point, and R returns to something like an isometric view. These buttons are assigned to "Application Use."
