SpacePilot Pro not working properly

Postby bmarcus1 » Thu Apr 26, 2012 10:51 pm

i plug my space pilot into any of my usb ports and 90% of the time my comp doesnt even recognize it 9% of the time it says usb device not recognize and it only works about 1% of the time. every time i need to use the mouse it takes a half hour or more of fiddling around with it to get it to work. all my other devices work flawlessly in all usb ports. i am running windows 7 64-bit. maybe time for a driver update on your end? or any other suggestions to get this thing working properly? hasnt worked well from day 1

SpacePilot Pro not working properly

Postby Barbara » Fri Apr 27, 2012 8:45 am

Hello bmarcus1 -

The 3Dconnexion devices need full USB power. Most other USB devices are able to operate with less power.

With a laptop, for instance, we sometimes see a device not recognized until the AC adapter is connected. On a desktop it is usually the rear ports that have sufficient power to allow the SpacePilotPRO to be recognized.

USB ports on a hub, adapter or extension usually do not provide sufficient power for the SpacePilotPRO. The exception would be a USB port connected to a power suppy such as a USB port on a monitor.

If there is another PC available to test with, you can see if the problem is specific to the PC you are using. If you feel there is a problem with the SpacePilotPRO ,please contact our Technical Support.
