Driver freezes in firefox profil

Hi,

I'm using 3DxWare Version 10.0.11 on WinXP, mainly with SolidEdge ST3 - Device is a SpaceExplorer.

During work my profile switches automatically from SolidEdge to Firefox when I change windows. Very often this switch locks up the driver taking up 50%CPU (or one of my two cores) and slowly eating into RAM as well. Access to 3DConnexion Properties Window is blocked. I have to kill 3DXService.exe and start the properties tool manually to get the device working again.

Does anybody else experience these issues? Is there a fix or workaround available?

Hi Daniel,

we have similar problems while switching from EDM to CAD-System.
The driver is still running, but it is focussed on the EDM integration not on CAD.
Until there is a solution available we use a small batch-file to kill and restart the 3dxService-process.
Its a well working workaround...

You have to create a cmd-file by using notepad (e.g. kill&restart.cmd) with the following content:

@echo off
echo.
echo. killing 3DxService...
taskkill /f /IM 3DxService.exe
echo.
echo restart 3DxService....
call "C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxWinCore32\3DxConfig.exe"
exit
