3DxWare 10 Beta and Photoshop CS4 Problems

Postby snailspeed » Tue Jul 12, 2011 8:43 am

I'm having trouble getting the beta drivers to work with CS4 and the Space Navigator. I've read through multiple threads that mention issues with CS4, but still no answers to the problem.

The Left and Right buttons work ok but I can't pan/rotate/zoom etc. Assigning 2D mouse controls works and it works fine with other programs such as 3DS Max and Google Earth.

I've tested the old drivers and they work ok, but I'd much rather use the Beta drivers.

Has anyone else been able to fix these issues? Am I missing something?

I assume you are supposed to be able to navigate with them, or is the idea to assign 2D mouse/ key strokes? That would seem a little backward.

Any help would be most appreciated.

You should be able to work with photoshop as before. Do you have a Photoshop.xml profile? That was added in 3DxWare 10 Beta 10.

I do. Each axis has the 3D mouse assigned and active.

I've also just tried uninstalling PS and 3DxWare completely, including all user settings and anything left behind in the 'AppData' directory. Did a complete reinstall, but it still isn't working properly :/.

I made a mistake when I made that Photoshop.xml profile.

Open the Photoshop.xml in the 3DxWare installation Cfg subdirectory using notepad.

Change the line:

<Transport>MWM</Transport>
to
<Transport>S80</Transport>

and your pan and zoom will work again.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
