Error creating profiles

Postby robrea » Wed Apr 27, 2011 1:08 pm

Just got my Space Navigator yesterday!! I was anxious to use in a unsuporrted CAD program.

After some trouble gettin installed (had to clean up left over entires from the old Space Ball 5000),

The software seems to work in Catia and Collage. However, if I want to create a profile and use the ICON in the lower right task bar, I get '3DxService needs to be (re)started. All 3D mouse aware applications need to be stopeed when restarting 3DxService'.

If I use the task bar to stop the service, 'Exit 3D service', then use Start, Programs, 3D Connexion Properties, I get the white splash screen, and wait, and wait, and wait. It never goes any further.

After 1/2 hour, I close the splash screen.

What am I doing wrong?

System is Win XP, 32 bit, SP2, 4GB ram, dual core processor, Acer.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Robert

My guess is that you have an incomplete installation. Possibly some leftovers from a very old 3DxWare installation.

Try this:
Uninstall 3DxWare 10.
Delete siappdll.dll and spwini.dll from your system32 directory.
Reinstall 3DxWare 10.
