I'm feeling stupid, tried everything but the right mouse button.

The values do change in the edit layout screen.
But in the applications the movement is not smooth at all.

RBC9 is standing in the device manager.

P.S. cant you make a button for disabling led blinking on the device?

sorry if mistundersttod , but my english ...

blinking should not be if u r not in the "Edit Layout" Screen.

if the led blink outside , there is problem.

have u "AutoSwitch" turn on, try off.

if it is , don t u put ur app in "app list" in multiple Layout ?

In 3d everything is running smooth, but in other apps it seems that the joystick calibration isn't correct. I have a fresh installed Windows XP professionell.

Well the blinking is only in edit mode, but i found it a bit annoying.

ChangeLog 02-17 :

- Add "Comment" textbox for each bind ...

- "Should" support SpacePilot Device
In "Edit Layout" , select your device.
Not complete , for test only.

SpaceTravelers are just around the corner! :)

Post by Mazcal »

Hey there.
I have been following the thread for a while since I got my 8-button wonder and obviously I'm jealous of your joystick driver.

I wanted to show support and appreciation you have been putting in this, and to say there are a bunch of us from a neighboring forum who have been drooling about this thread for a while now.

Please let me/us know if there's anything you need to get this thing functional for the SpaceTraveler.

Also, to the moderators/staff, is there an official position by 3dC about joystick drivers? is this something we should expect to see incorporated in the main distribution anytime in the near future?

Thanks a bunch.

Hi,

I have received my SpaceNavigator yesterday and was very disapointed to see that I could not use it with other applications.
My goal was to use it as a MIDI controller, and also it could not be used as a standard HID device.

BUT, I have googled and see this forum, have downloaded your diver, install it, set a layout : WONDERFULL !

It is not always available as a HID in Bidule (it appears but there is no value), but at least I can use it in my applications (and have made a MIDI converter VST, see the other post).

Thanks a lot !

Happy that u found u solution.

The device is still avaible as a standart HID device and u can get value.

with my driver , the SpaceNav is see as a multi device.

it is call "usage" in HID standart.

usage 04 : joystick
usage 02 : mouse
usage 06 : Keyboard
usagepage 0c usage 01 : custom keyboard (for special key)
usage 08 : the original 3DConnexion device

Image

so , i u want to read / get the value from the device , ur app have to connect to the device usage 08. (it s the way original 3DConnexion do)

is there only One Joystick in the game controler list ? .... it happens to me , that a "shadow" version appears in the first release. i add a "patch" on the original HID to hide it ... but may be ....

have a try to this.

- Stop 3dConn driver

- uninstall the RBC9-SpaceNav with control panel

- uninstall the Driver in device manager. (still this f*** bug , u have to "move" the device when u start "uninstall driver", if u dont dont , the screen keep freeze and waiiiiiiit :))

check the option "delete driver" when prompt during uninstal.

- go to ur windows/system32/drivers and delete rb9-spacenav.sys if still there
- go to ur windows/inf and delete rbc9-spacenav.inf if still present

unplug device , restart computer.

now download the last version

install

plug and install the driver

be sur to select "RBC9 SpaceNavigator MouJoyKey v2" in screen , may be there is a "ghost" version.
and , in the last day/week , i change the description of the device, so Windows may confuse.

last thing , when u go to joystick calibration , are u sure the layout is select ? don t u have autoswitch turn on and another laoyout as default ?

edit : another idea , b4 restart ur computer.
u can check and remove in device manager , the device that u no longer use.

At a command prompt, type the following command , and then press ENTER:
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

Type the following command a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
start devmgmt.msc

Click Show hidden devices on the View menu in Device Managers before you can see devices that are not connected to the computer

Troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager

look in Keyboard , Mouse , and Game contoler to remove device that should not be ...

- Modify Joystick "throttle" to "Slider 2" for Jean-Marc Accoustic module.

Since , no a lot of people use Joystick throttle for the moment ... doing something else if needed.
