Can't get Spaceball 3000 Serialto work Solaris 10

Postby garymansell » Mon Dec 22, 2008 5:07 am

Hi,

I downloaded the driver for the Spaceball 3000 (3dxware-solaris-v1-3-0-sparc.tar.gz) and have tried to install it but it throws the following error:

Driver (ugen) successfully added to system but failed to attach

Any ideas how to get round this - it seems to be usb related when the spaceball is attached via the serial port

Rgds

Hello Gary,

the SpaceBall 3000 is a fairly old device and is no longer supported. The support for 3000s stopped already many years ago!
I'm sorry to tell you so!

You may want to upgrade to a recent device like the SpaceExplorer.

Regarding the message:
Driver (ugen) successfully added to system but failed to attach

Its from the Solaris kernel driver support for our USB devices. The driver is loaded, but no USB 3Dx Mouse is connected the driver can attach to. This message is OK at installation time.

Best regards,
