Plans for a keyboard?
Any plans for a 3Dconnexion keyboard?
Re: Plans for a keyboard?
Was going to post the same thing. Seems like an obvious product gap given the existence of the CAD mouse now (even a mouse mat too).
3Dconnexion branded premium backlit keyboard, built in USB hub to connect the CAD mouse and 3D mouse of choice (perhaps some cable management in the base)
Possibly some programmable buttons (ala the Enterprise) and perhaps even a similar LCD screen...?

registered to support this idea. the quote pretty much sums it up for me. it would be really great to have a professional, well made keyboard to complement the CAD mouse and the SM Enterprise.Magic Man wrote:Was going to post the same thing. p.s. having a second revision of the SpaceMouse Enterprise with backlit keys would also be good.

+1
Would be great to have a 3dconnexion keyboard.
One with mechanical switches based around the G610 would be good.
Back-lit keys would be a must.
Maybe with a screen and buttons like the SpaceMouse Enterprise.
Perhaps with capacitive cherry mx keycaps that show an onscreen indication of they keyboard shortcut based on key press combinations.

They have done it it before... sort of..
Circa 2003.... Back when they were part of Logitech..
A quality keyboard with mechanical switches would be nice addition though..

Re: Plans for a keyboard?
Should make one with a 3D Mouse on both the left and right.
A 3DMouse could be used for mutliple actions, just some examples:
-3D Manipulation
-Pointer control with vertical being mousescroll and tilts being button presses
-Video jog wheel
Imagine the possibilities:
-left hand 3DMouse for 3DManipulation, right hand 3DMouse for pointer control (or vice versa)
-left hand 3DMouse for 3DManipulation, right hand keyboard (or vice versa)
Joystick buttons could be added to the keyboard (maybe above the function keys)
It would be even more awesome of the keys were analog

Re: Plans for a keyboard?
Actually a keyboard with the option to snap-in 3D mice on each side would be ideal, maybe snap in 2 of these

Being able to replace the puck-shaped cap with a 2DMouse housing with buttons and scroll-wheel would be an interesting option. Could call it the 2DMouse with an infinite sized mousepad that you never have to lift / recenter.
A few joystick buttons could be placed above the numpad for folks using a 3DMouse with their left hand, and a few joystick buttons could be placed near the escape key for right handers.
