It does work, but I agree about performance being suboptimal. The zoom behavior (in Chrome) is unpredictable and laggy, and I find a more controlled zoom experience when using a standard mousewheel compared to rotating the controller cap. The panning behavior looks like it simulates click-and-drag. This works alright, but panning isn't smooth since the pointer will pause and reset to the center of the screen anytime it hits an edge. I also experienced it clicking and dragging away a slide annotation by accident.
You've definitely made it useable and I appreciate all your work to improve this! But I agree, it's not yet at a state where we can deploy this to our pathologists. This seems like a fairly tough nut to crack, which is unfortunate since the majority of modern pathology slide viewers are now browser-based. I wonder if a non-Chromium browser would have better luck, at least for zooming?
