Windows XP 32 bit Solidworks 2009 compatibility

Post by davidvernon »

Presently using a USB Spacemouse Plus XT and it seems to be causing problems with Solidworks 2009.
Would buying a brand new Space Navigator be a good idea or are these not compatible with what we are using?
Or do we just need special drivers for the mice we already have?
The mouse seems to be too old to update drivers from 3DConnexion.

Hello davidverson -

The final SpaceMouse Plus driver - Release 3.7.22 - includes the SolidWorks 2009 add-in and is still available from our downloads page. Be sure to check the box for 'Also show archived software' - that option displays the legacy drivers.

SolidWorks needs to be closed during the 3Dconnexion software installation so the add-in can be installed in SolidWorks.

If you are still seeeing a problem once the SolidWorks 2009 add-in is installed you can use the clean install steps to clear any issues with previous versions or Windows registry keys.

All of our current devices including the Space Navigator have support both for Windows XP and SolidWorks 2009. The final SpaceMouse Plus driver includes the add-ins for SolidWorks 2009 and 2010. If you update SolidWorks beyond the 2010 version you would need one of the current devices.
