Hi ivankio,
unlock the first button of SpaceNavigator
Can you please make sure you have the latest version of 3DxWare 10. We're now at Beta 11 and the button should again be available.

We added the option to unlock the "menu" button in Beta 10.

You can download 3DxWare 10 Beta for Windows from our Labs page.

Yes, I had gotten it.
I saw that the button is unlockable, but in the other hand the pop-up menu was removed from the Maya interface, effectively still forcing the user to save a button for the 3d connexion menu.

Horizontal Scrolling

Postby cbreving » Tue Nov 22, 2011 8:04 pm

Are there plans to add Horizontal Scrolling for 2D Mouse.
The mouse wheel is there, but the horizontal scrolling would also be helpful.

Incorrect Function Key labels for Solid Edge

Postby cbreving » Tue Nov 29, 2011 10:30 am

I am using Solid Edge ST4 on Windows 7 64bit, with a Space Pilot Pro.

When I open Solid Edge the function keys in the add-in, the LCD, and the 3Dconnexion Properties window all show the labels for the assigned buttons incorrectly.

In one case the value for all of them showed "Application Use", today they all show "Toggle Pan Only". However, if I use one of the buttons it performs the correct action that was assigned to it. I just have no way to see what the command is.

If I assign a new command through the Solid Edge Add-in it will show the command name. The LCD and 3Dconnexion Properties program show "Application Use".

When I switch applications to Internet Explorer, those labels are correct. Switching back to Solid Edge, it still shows incorrect labels.

Please help!!!!

I use Solid Edge ST4 MP2 64bit on Win 7 64bit.

I love the ability to use my spaceExplorer in other program's, this feels completely naturally. I tried this a lot before I had this beta driver.

Too pity, but I am afraid I will have to downgrade to the latest stable driver because the driver stays disabling the 'zoom' function.

Also does it continues steeling my buttons. It is randomly changed to "Toggle Pan Only" and back.

Really sorry, but I have to uninstall the beta.

The 'zoom' is constantly turned off.
I have to open the driver every minute to re-enable the zoom function.

An other small thing. It would be easy if the default profile to open would be the one from the last active program. Now it is always 'explorer', even when I was working in Solid Edge.

I am really really looking forward to the next stage of this driver.

How are you opening the GUI? Are you using the menu button on the device, or the systray icon?

Thanks for your time.
I opened the GUI trough the systray icon. I can't test now what the button would do because I turned back to the old driver.

Are the complaints I wrote before known problems?

I am really looking forward to a stable version of this beta! 8)

When you switch to the background, systray, explorer window, the driver thinks you are switching to Explorer and dutifully switches to the Explorer profile. I've put it in an exception for a direct switch to the background and systray, but that check may not be working on your machine. If you go through an explorer window on the way to the systray, that would be normal behavior.

On the Zoom flag, we think that is a bug we are currently looking at.

3DxWare 11 Beta

Postby Mavortius » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:19 am

I definitely appreciate how functional the beta software is - even with a SpaceNavigator, having only two buttons. I've explored the profiles feature and the key mapping and found everything very easy to use.

Recently, however, I found an apparent glitch as I was using my SpaceNavigator in SolidWorks 2011. I'll be posting a topic soon...

Thanks for your explanation.
When the new version of the driver is available I will test it again and let you know what happens here.

Are there any plans to release a new version of the beta in the near future (i.e. still in 2011)?

What a pity! :(

The driver component itself seems to work fine on my WinXPsp3 but I can't get the configuration utility to run. I just get "Service needs to be restarted" every time I want to access it.
However, I have a second WinXP laptop where it runs absolutely flawless, so I can copy the XML files that are created back and forth. Quite a hassle though.

I tried every .NET version, serice pack and hotfix under the sun, reinstalling everything a dozen times and still have no clue how to fix this...

I think we have had two reports of persistent problems starting 3DxConfig. From the error message, I'd say it has something to do with communication between the driver and 3DxConfig over C#. Is this a 64-bit XP machine?
