shade 12

Postby chimera15 » Fri Jul 29, 2011 4:43 am

I'm trying out the translated version of the Japanese program Shade 12. It has a lot of interesting features. It also apparently supports 3dconnexion devices..but somethings really strange with the movement, certain axis are reversed, and it's not very smooth. I've had this problem usually when there was some kind of setting wrong, but I've tried every setting I can think of. Do I have to write to the developers to figure this out, or might there be suggestions here.

Hello chimera15 -

Yes, you're correct - when an application developer adds the support for 3D devices into their software, it uses only our basic device driver - only the developer can correct any issues with it.

In general , to check that device settings are are not the problem, you can go back to the defaults for that application by choosing "Restore all Defaults"[3Dconnexion Control Panel – Options- Restore all Defaults] with your application open and having the device focus. A dialog box will then say that restoring defaults will remove all changes you have made to the configuration - confirm to restore defaults.

If you are seeing a problem with more than one application you can use the clean install steps to restore your device to its original behavior.

If you still see a problem with the navigation, you would need to contact the technical support for Shade12. If changes are needed, it would take a patch or update to the application resolve the problem.

In case anyone else comes here wondering. Right now it looks like Shade does support them, but it's purely analog, on/off function, no linear action, so the driver is incomplete.

Maybe 3d connexion can help them, cause it sounds like the developers are interested in fixing this, but haven't been able to or something.

Do you have a contact at the software developer? How did you find this out?
