3dsmax 2012 - space explorer lags driver 3.13

Postby dddesign » Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:41 am

pls help!
using the space explorer in 3dsmax 2012 has a significant slower frame rate then using the normal mouse!!!!!! not realy usable, to lagy!!!! in max 2011 both had the same framerate. whats the reason for this??

would it be possible to integrate in next versions not only to use the selected object for rotation center but also use the objects sub selection?
I know I can click control middle mousebutton to set it manual, but it would be faster if its working automatic.....

and pls add Mudbox support!!!! i tried the new beta driver but it seems they also don´t work in mudbox

Normally, we should expect the same level of performance for the same scenes but the application API may have be modifying and cause a performance hit.

Can you pin-point what is causing the performance issue? For example, using the Popup Menu (press the "Panel" button of your SpaceExplorer), change the "Rotation Center" settings and see if you see a significant difference.

Believe us: we'd love to have Mudbox supporting our devices.

450 divided by 4 is about 108. I'm wondering if when you use your 3D mouse, it will refresh all views whereas with the normal mouse only the affected view is activated.

Is this something you can see? For example, are all four views refreshing when using the 3D mouse?

Have the same issues. Using the SpacePilot in a heavy scene is just a real pain. First of all there is the lagg. When I start using my SP there is a 3-4 second pause until the view actually responds. The FPS is from 50% down to 33% lower than using mouse and keyboard.
Part of the problem has to be that your software creates a temporary camera then deletes it when releasing the SP. Not very efficient

I have the same lag. when i navigate in viewport, using space pilot pro FPS about 180, but when i'm using mouse, the FPS up to 260-280. some times in big scene, diference between more then 2 times.
