Hi Tyros_uk,

It is currently under testing. We expect it to be available before the end of the month.

An update: the plug-in for Maya 2009 (x86 and x64) was made available for download on Oct 31st.

It is included in 3DxSoftware v. 3.6.10 which can be downloaded here.

Well, this stinks.

Every ad for the device says that it supports Maya on the Mac.

Of course, it's easy to support software if you only write drivers for it every few versions.

now, where is that Amazon.com Return Defective button ...

Hi,

The 3Dconnexion plug-in for Maya 2009 on Mac was made available on Nov 17th.

The software (3DxMacWare v. 1.5.6) can be freely downloaded here.

Maya 2009 SP1 - Working with Space Pilot? V3.8.1

Post by RICH055 »

Reinstalled V3.8.1, no luck is this driver working with Maya 2009 64 SP1?

If so what should I do to get it working other than uninstall/reinstall?

Thanks!

Hi RICH055,

please check if the files from the 3DxMaya plugin are at the correct location:

These Melscripts: MagellanStartup.mel, C3DxButtonEditor.mel, C3DxControlPanel.mel, C3DxMapping.mel, userSetup.mel,
C3DxMaatrix.mel, C3DxView.mel have to be in the "scripts/startup" sub-directory of Maya.

These bitmaps: 3DxCube_24x24,xpm, 3DxCube_30x30.xpm, 3DxHelp_24x24.xpm, 3DxHelp_30x30.xpm, 3DxLogo_200x90.bmp have to be in the "icons" directory of Maya.

In Maya's "bin/plug-ins" you should find 3DxMaya.mll.

And the file 3DxMaya.chm should be in "docs/ext".

Should you have a usersetup.mel in your user local directory then MagellanStartup will not have executed. To start the device support execute "MagellanStartup" from the script editor. To have MagellanStartup automatically execute when Maya is started then add the line
  • MagellanStartup;
to your usersetup.mel
