SiInitialize takes long time if spaceball is not plugged in

Postby tong.liu » Wed Aug 26, 2009 7:48 am

guys,

I've Spaceball installed, and my lib is 1.1.2.1(where I found in the version.h).

In my application, I call SiInitialize(); when application starts. The problem is when Spaceball is not plugged in, the SiInitialize function takes several minutes to finish. It looks like it goes through all machine devices to search for spaceball and will wait some time for response. is this true?

I am wondering if you may have a checking function I can call before SiInitialize, something like bool isDevicePlugged()? or other work around.

any ideas?
Thanks
Tong
