Re: Cant this device scroll system wide?

Why cant these devices be implemented into the system, well, system wide?

Why cant there be a setting in the system prefs. to allow tilt back and forward to be scroll and down and up to be zoom? Devices like wacom tablets will work anywhere on the system because the admin controls let you set up tones of key command and gestures. Why can I customize this to have press down be command-shif-+ and up be command-shift-_ ???

I bought this instead of the griffen powermate but now im thinking this isn't going to let me do simple things like scroll.

Maybe im just confused.

Any suggestions?

I was making the same question.

Why?

The current list of support applications is quite impressive already = )

Better support for Mathematica: only two of the 6 degrees of movement work now: up and sideways translations, which work as rotations (!?!)

Photoshop CS4. I bought for CS3 - It worked beautifully. If you supported the earlier two CS releases why not this one? Lets have it back please.

The latest driver, v1.5.6, has a plug-in for PS CS4. There is a redraw issue when you're stopping navigation in 3D. We've notified Adobe of this and hopefully it will be fixed in their first patch.

2D should work fine.

OK ... a bit more detail

Power Pro 2 x 2.8 Quad-Core Intel. 8.0 GB RAM

2 x NVIDIA GeForce Video cards full Open GL support

Standard two button Navigator.

3D Connexion Control Panel shows 1 3Dconnexion devices found. Driver V1.5.6, Firmware revision 3.18

The control panel drop down shows CS4 as an option for setup.

In Sketchup Pro 6 the Navigator works perfectly so there seems no reason to suppose that there is a general physical connection problem or driver problem.

In CS4 X the navigator does nothing! Neither in 2D or 3D.

All CS's own internal navigation functions work fine with pen or mouse - smooth and fast.

There is one issue that could be implicated. In the past there were difficulties with non English keyboards (particularly with brush size) as the navigator used keyboard shortcuts. No idea if this could still be an issue here but as far as I know the navigation aspect of the controller is entirely independent of keyboard.

The two programmed buttons do work. Navigation does not. The odd thing is that it doesn't jump, or limp, or struggle, or show any other signs of glitches ...... it simply does absolutely nothing at all.

Frustrating ........

OK ignore this last post. The problem has been solved in another thread ... well partially anyway ......

I shall leave this post alone and continue only in the other "Uhh, Photoshop CS4 extended"

Sorry about this. I didn't mean to double post, what started as two threads got intertwined.

I don't seem to be able to vote directly, so please add me to the 'Final Cut' tally.
