Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
Hi Jwick.
I didn't see a "logging" icon in the systray. Not even sure what that is or how I would know it's on. However, I wanted to rephrase my description of the application-switching behavior since using the GrabHard code you supplied. Thank you again by the way. Opening a 2'nd instance of Rhino forces the 3DXEnterprise to lock to the newly started instance. Whichever instance that is started last is what the 3DX now controls. It's predictable so I can work with it. Still looking forward to a driver fix, but love the hardware.
Cheers,
Brian Jackson

Thanks Jwick for the solution. That got it working for me!

Any update on this issue?
Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
The fix should be in the recently released driver. Let us know.

My task manager shows that 3DxProfileServer.exe takes over when switching back to Rhino during the UI locking effect.
Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
What sort of delay are you seeing? I'm seeing 1 second. Logging turned off.

Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
Almost 3 seconds with logging turned off.
Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
There is still a lag but it's significantly less than before. I was seeing up to a 5 sec. delay after switching windows, now its 1 second or less. This is much more manageable. Thank you for the update!

I can also confirm this issue still exist, though somewhat diminished in the latest version (10.5.2).
The good news it's very easy to reproduce.
1. Clear out your current Rhino settings (i.e. delete Rhino.xml from C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfg)
2. Start Rhino
3. Open 3DConnexion app and make sure it's detecting Rhino
3a. Navigate using SpaceMouse Pro and confirm no lag when switching to/from other apps
4. Click Advanced settings
5. Reverse all axes
6. Close Advanced settings
7. Switch back to Rhino
7a. Navigate using SpaceMouse Pro and notice the lag when switching from other apps

Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
A few more points:
1. When 3dware first creates the CFG file for Rhino, there is a section in it called Device, with the following content:
<Device>
<Name>SpaceMouse Pro</Name>
<VendorID>46d</VendorID>
<ProductID>c62b</ProductID>
...
</Device>
2. When I change any of the axes to be reversed, this adds a new Device section underneath, rather than in the same one, i.e.:
<Device>
<Name>SpaceMouse Pro</Name>
<VendorID>46d</VendorID>
<ProductID>c62b</ProductID>
...
</Device>
<Device>
<Name>Standard 3D Mouse</Name>
<VendorID>0</VendorID>
<ProductID>0</ProductID>
<InheritsFrom>Standard 3D Mouse</InheritsFrom>
<Axis>
...
</Device>
3. Combining the two under either Standard 3D Mouse Device or under SpaceMouse Pro does not change the lag, unfortunately.

I can reproduce the same.heliosol wrote:I can also confirm this issue still exist, though somewhat diminished in the latest version (10.5.2).

Im having same problem with Solid Edge ST10.
Re: Rhino lag when switching to application with 3dxware 10.
When @postalgbv stated to put it in the xml files they meant the 3Dconnexion Rhino xml file here -> C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\Cfgoh.stv wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2016 5:21 am Hi,
i have the exact same issue. For me, in this state, my mouse is NOT useable at all.
@postalgbv
Can u pls explain where to add "<Grab>Hard</Grab>" exactly.
I already found the Rhino.xml file. But there is no "</CfgProperties>" in it.
Thx
@ 3D Connections please fix this issue it negates any purpose of ur product, which is to increase productivity.
This fix works while Rhino is open but you still may see lag when opening it up. As a tip, you're looking for </CfgProperties> on line 15 in the file. Hopefully they come out with a full fix soon but it works for now. KEEP IN MIND this does lock your space mouse to Rhino while it's open. Hope this helped and good luck!
