Head-mounted displays and 3dmice

Head-mounted displays will soon be moving from science fiction to reality.
This could be a good case for putting a 3dmouse into a vehicle.
Perhaps it could replace the IDrive center console knob in the newer BMWs with 3dmice instead.

IDrive knobs currently only provide one 1 input level per direction.
