this is what i tried, i actually made some changes a while back that removes the need for "run as administrator" on my account, so every exe i run is pretty much already "run as administrator"

Hi mattcscz,

Best to have a look to the log file.

Open the panel and go to the "Tools" tab, ensure that "Debug" log is enabled. Exit the 3DxService driver. Go to the following location and delete the "3DxService.log" if present:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\3Dconnexion\3DxWare

Then restart 3DxService and launch ZBrush. After the application loads, open a model and confirm that right-click navigation works fine with the normal mouse. Then try using your 3D mouse (we know this fails). Exit the application and the 3DxService driver.

Create a copy of the 3DxService.log and send it to us by e-mail. I've sent a PM with the address.

I've sent the email, another thing to note is when im in zbrush it isn't actually picking up the fact zbrush is open (my LCD menu doesn't come up with different function keys like it does when im in maya/max) this is my i asked for the driver in a zip :P but as it doesn't exist I don't know XD

Thanks for all your support by the way, i really appreciate it :D

Reminder:
Please uncheck the Debug log file after sending the file.
I found if the file is left on over an extended time of use it can get very large and take up your hard disc space.

Got it, thanks.

You are running 3DxSoftware v. 3.13.0.

Experimental ZBrush is available in 3DxWare 10, our fancy new software stack. More information on 3DxWare 10 can be found in the Anywhere web page. The software is available from 3DxLabs.

That's a possibility, yes. Try uninstalling all 3Dconnexion software. Then check if you can still find a "3Dconnexion" folder under "C:\Program Files" (you shouldn't).

What do you mean? Change what settings? We can do anything the 2D mouse can do, but not much more w/o modifying ZBrush.

Glad you got it working. Seems that it was just an installation issue. We were worried there for a while.

well, the axis moves alot differntly to maya, i know it mimics zbrushes movement but is it not possible to change it around? so say i pull the mouse up it pans up apposed to down, basically everything is inverted XD or is it possible to lock rotations so i can only move on the x axis?

You should be able to swap axes around and turn on the dominant axis by editing the profile with 3DxConfig.

thanks for all the replys =-), but now i have another problem. It seems maya has stopped working now... in the script line it says:
"// Error: Cannot find procedure "_3DxOnDriverFunctionsChanged".
" // Error: Cannot find procedure "_3DxOnMotionEvent".
and all of my functions on the mouse LCD screen are "..."
Im using maya 2008, I just like this version opposed to newer ones, i haven't yet tried the newer versions yet :/

Max does work (2011).

after doing some looking around i found this link " http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/tech ... 0137339202 "
However it isn't very description and from what i know of windows you can't "uninstall plugins from add or remove programs" and when i check both program files/bin/plugins and mydoc/maya/plugins there is only 1x plugin of 3dxmaya.mll :/
