Same functionality and same limitations as xpadder.

We can't have the space pilot pro movements without mouse cursor movements, making it almost useless as soon as you leave the viewport of any unsupported 3d app because yo ustart to grabe and move things in the ui. :/

The driver needs to lock the current cursor position before 3dx interaction and restore it every x ms. At least that's what I think, I'm taking zbrush for example you can't have panning without starting to zoom (with the zswitcher plugin).

Yup. We are looking into this. With 3DxWare 10, we have the ability to create very highly tuned solutions for specific applications. There does appear to be a class of applications that we can address together though. We have been experimenting with smarter cursor movement. Stay tuned.

It is not our intention to have the same limitations as anyone.

I can't edit my first post so here's another remark. In firefox (and probably in other apps), you can cycle your tabs with ctrl+tab and ctrl+shift+tab.

But in the 3dconnection propertie tabs if you press tab as a keystroke, it acts like the normal tab, and switch to the next ui input: we can't assign tab as a keystroke.

Thanks for the feedback on smart cursor movment, I'm eager to see how it works.

Menu Button Editable

Postby chaseacej » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:37 am

The menu button needs to be editable. Especially on the SpaceNavigator where there is only 2 buttons. It is now basically limited to one button.

THAT'S the other place I need to look at. I knew there were two. The Macro Editor and the Advanced Motion tab.

hey thanks, I was always wondering what key command is needed for that, but was too lazy to investigate.

Yes, the Tab and the fixed menu button is something that has been discussed many times. I feel so free to vote for this to change in future versions as well. Thank you Jim for listening, I appreciate that.

Sorry for the unfortunate and useless quote post, it's a shame we can't edit our posts...

I wanted to say:

@jwick a simple "2b" should be quite easy to add ;) I did it manualy anyway.

The cursor thing appart the driver is almost perfect.
When that is fixed we can officially say that there is no "unsupported app" :)

You are catching on. Getting to know the xml is very helpful.

Good timing on the release. If I had heard about 24hrs later, I would have dismissed it as an April Fools joke.

Cant wait to get home and test out the new functionality.

If so thats a right pain, the Cadman performs fine for my CAD work so I see little need to rush out and change it.

I guess that the deafening silence answers my question then.

3DxWare 10 only supports products in the current product line. The CadMan hasn't been supported in quite a long time.

problem with Bodypaint 3D

Postby yasu21net » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:47 am

it doesn't work on BodyPaint 3D once its own profile is created. but it does work if you delete the profile, which means you can't change settings for BodyPaint at all.

If you ever try to get ISO certification, don't they have time line that you have to support your products? I wonder why they would do that? Maybe because it is the right thing to do!
