I think the new beta12 works well bu I have a little problem; I use my space navigator with an old pro-E wildfire 2 and everything works fine except that every time I start Pro-E it appears the window of "3Dconnexion Properties" and I have to confirm OK button; I read that I should manually install the file "protk.dat" and thinked that this would solve the issue, but unfortunately in 3Dconnexion drivers did not exist a folder for Wildfire2... may I use the WF3 instead of my version or it is better to continue this way, without install anything?
As always thanks for your valuable advice.
Hello, wave :D
There was a bug in ProE a while back, in that it was always telling 3DxWare to display its GUI. They fixed that at some point. Do you see the same behavior with the non-beta versions of 3DxWare (the shipping version)?

I tried only with beta 12 because the space navigator I purchase last week from a shop has a 2009 CD driver: [3DxCDROM v. 3-7-18-0; 3DX-500160 CD,SW,3DX STD,RTL,07-2009] and so I download directly drivers from the website.
Is there a solution to the issue installing the "protk.dat" or do you think is better I will continue without installing no other plugin?..anyway the ProE parts movement and control are fluid and comfortable.
Thank you in advance for the answer

The problem with the GUI popping up is all WF. I don't recall at what version of WF that was fixed. You will have to upgrade Pro.

The protk.dat file has nothing to do with that. That file may have something to do with installing our ProE plugin, which is an installation option. The plugin is mainly for devices with lots of buttons and an LCD. You don't need it. I suggest you don't install it if you are having any problems with it.

It doesn't matter if you use 3DxWare 10 or 3DxWare 6 with WF3. Both will display the GUI if ProE/WF/Creo/xtop.exe tells it to. If it really bugs you, you can delete the GUI (3DxConfig.exe) but then you won't have a GUI any other time :(

Well thank you for the explanations; i will use anyway the 3DxWare Property GUI the popping up is only a the starting of the WF2 and this causes me not too problems.
Can you explain me how to confiugure the two buttons of the space navigator to have the functions showed in the 3DxWare GUI...it sais :"please use the gui in proE to assign buttons"...what I have to do?
Thank you very much!

1. 3Dconnexion properties for SpaceMouse Pro: The picture of the SpaceMouse that shows which button thats marked has switched two pictures "Roll +" and "Rot". (see the attached picture, the "Rot" line is marked but it shows the "Roll +" button)

2. The button "Rot" and button 4 doesn't work in Catia.
I've tried to delete the "xml profile" and start up again, it helped to some of the other buttons that didn't work at first but not for theese two buttons.
I've also tried to add macros in the xml-file and it worked but Catia went crazy, it behaved like I never stopped pressing the button.. When I switched to my webbrowser it just wrote "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" until I switched to another program..

Here's the lines for these two buttons, I don't understand what's wrong?

<Button>
<Input>
<ActionID>HIDButton_16</ActionID>
</Input>
<Output>
<ActionID>CTRL+Z</ActionID>
<NameID>Undo</NameID>
</Output>
</Button>
<Button>
<Input>
<ActionID>HIDButton_27</ActionID>
</Input>
<Output>
<ActionID>CTRL+R</ActionID>
<NameID>Rotation</NameID></Output>
</Button>
</ButtonBank>
</Device>
</Devices>
<MacroTable>
<MacroEntry>
<ID>CTRL+Z</ID>
<Sequence>
<KeyPress>E0</KeyPress>
<KeyPress>1D</KeyPress>
</Sequence>
</MacroEntry>
<MacroEntry>
<ID>CTRL+R</ID>
<Sequence>
<KeyPress>E0</KeyPress>
<KeyPress>15</KeyPress>
</Sequence>
</MacroEntry>
</MacroTable>
</AppCfg>

jwick: I figured out the XML coding you mentioned in your reply to me before I saw your reply. Pretty straight forward; thanks for making it so.
I have a few new suggestions for the GUI:

1. Add an 'import from existing profile' when creating a new profile. This is separate from the current import & export option in that it would copy one of the profiles already in 3DxWare, such as the default profile, as the starting point for the new profile.

2. Add a 'same as default profile' option in the button and axis options which maps the action of that item to whatever is in the default profile. This should check the default XML file so that changes in the default profile automatically map to the new default profile action.

3. Store the button macros in a common XML file, this way they are available to all profiles, not just the one they were created in.

Not that any of the above are critical, but they would make creating new profiles much easier. I have been incorporating my 3D mouse into everything I do on my computer and have a set of keys with the same function across all of my programs; if I want to change something in a program from the default I currently have to either create and edit a profile to match my default or copy, paste and modify the XML profile.

4. Include a text input or screen keyboard for the macro input. The current macro box does not prevent other programs from grabbing the key input, which messes with inputting the keystrokes. I can turn off the program as a work around so its a minor annoyance.

Those are all good suggestions. If you do a lot of profile creation you might want to make some templates. Templates are just regular profiles with a different outer tag. You seem to be comfortable edting XML--you'll figure it out. Then they will appear in your template list.

Hi
I tried to install the new release on an X64 windows seven with spacemouse pro. I previously made a clean uninstall.
At the beginning of the new install I get the error 1638.
Do you have any ideas?

1638 seems to indicate that something is still left over from your previous installation. I'd try two things: 1) uninstall 3DxWare 10, reinstall 3DxWare 6 and then re-uninstall 3DxWare 6. Hopefully that should give you a clean machine. 2) use the Microsoft msi cleanup tool to remove all traces of 3DxWare. Then install 3DxWare 10.

The beta only supports English. That being said, it should just default to English even though you are running it on a French system. When does this MessageBox come up? Turn on the log file and attach it to your reply.
